LEADING OUT OF DRAMA (LOD) ®

Leading out of Drama ® (LOD)

What is Leading out of Drama®?

Scientific research now tells us that drama is predictable, observable and reversible.  Our LOD program harnesses the power of drama to create better outcomes. It was developed out of the US by Next Element.

LOD teaches self-awareness about how people and teams participate in and contribute to drama. If offers options for making healthier choices and delivers strategies for inviting others out of drama and into compassionate interactions.

LOD helps transform the interpersonal and group dynamics that sabotage morale, engagement and productivity. Teams become more committed, creative and focused on making meaningful contributions.

It can be used in behavioural management to support risk, culture and change in corporations.

Do you or your staff experience

  • unproductive meetings?

  • gossip?

  • strained relationships?

  • lack of accountability?

  • difficult performance conversations?

  • passive-aggressive behaviour?

  • absenteeism and low engagement?

  • resistance to change?

As an attorney and domestic mediator, I have found what I learned to be essential in dealing with recent high stress, intense negotiations. Did it give me all the answers? No. Did it help me navigate the treacherous waters of human interaction with all under stress? Well, on a scale of 1 to 10, maybe, like a thousand or so.

When do you use it?

LOD equips you with the skills to transform the energy of conflict into meaningful outcomes, every day, in every interaction. It is therefore used for both professional and personal development.

You will learn to:

  • Identify drama behaviours and how they impact strategic efforts.

  • Increase self-awareness and personal responsibility for stopping drama.

  • Communicate more effectively and with compassion.

  • Enforce rules of engagement to ensure drama doesn’t sabotage relationships.

  • Facilitate innovation and goal-setting.

  • Make decisions efficiently and with accountability.

  • Develop strong, meaningful relationships.

Since undertaking both PCM and now LOD I feel I have far more meaningful relationships, through deeper connections and communication. More recently I have felt a greater sense of empowerment and control over my feelings and wellbeing - especially when facing drama or conflict.
